                                   SAFETY TIPS

                                             FOR THE...

Bathroom:

*Appliances are never used near water.

*Showers and tubs should have slip-resistant rubber mats or decals.

*Small rugs and runners are slip-resistant.

*Hot water heater is set no higher than 120F.

*All medicines are stored in original containers that are child-resistant, high out of the reach of children.

Bedroom:

*There should be smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors on every level of the home and near the bedrooms.

*Smoke alarms should be clean and dust-free.

*Smoke alarm batteries should be replaced according to instructions or at least once a year.

*Heating pads should be turned off before sleeping.

Home Fire Drills/Plan:

*Home fire drills should be held often, during the day and at night.

*Know 2 ways out of every room.

*Fire escape routes are safe and clear of clutter.

*Windows, doors and screens can be opened easily. 

*A rope ladder is used for higher floors.

*A Safe Meeting Place is selected.

*Exits and stairways are safe.

*If there is a fire, crawl low below the smoke.

*Never go back inside for anything.

*Know how to stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch on fire.
